Easter Soup Kitchen

Medway - Easter Sunday Soup Kitchen...

Masses of thanks to Diane & Dave, Sandra, Claire, & Frances for creating an Easter feast - shepherd's pie, pasta bolognese, macaroni cheese, sausages, sandwiches and amazing Easter cakes!! Plus a huge box of fresh fruit donated by the Gateway in Brompton - and of course Easter Eggs for all! A special mention must go to our lovely volunteers who week in week out, serve it all with a smile 😊😊

Dogs were taken for walks by volunteers so their owners could eat in peace - as always there were plenty of doggy food parcels and treats to take away. Essentials, ,clothing and toiletries were distributed alongside our new 'library' - some of our regulars are avid readers so we've decided to offer books (any donations will be gratefully received! ) "Orders" from last week were delivered - a rucksack, a tent, specifically sized clothing, even a jar of coffee A few new faces appeared, some needing housing / services advice -( leaflets were distributed, our cards were handed out & we have offered to accompany them to any meetings later in the week) , and a friendly ear, others who just needed some food, essentials, & someone to listen, everyone is welcome .... ☺☺ Some people we see regularly are housed, most of them in vulnerable situations, many have health/mental health issues, and very little money (in some cases, because of benefit sanctions, no money) to live on - we have been criticised for helping them, as they are not "homeless" - but our charity constitution is quite clear - we help the homeless and those suffering financial hardship. Special mention to Sandra...who created a "Pride in Medway" winners cake for us...With a roman candle - we were very touched. Xx We saw over 70 people

This is only possible with YOUR help... Thank you ❤❤❤

We URGENTLY NEED non-perishable goods - tins/packets etc for food parcels - if you can help PLEASE get in touch .
