Medway Soup Kitchen

MEDWAY - Soup Kitchen and more Thank you Paula , Diane, Marion, Sandra and Trevor for cooking - lasagne, beef hotpot, Homemade sausage rolls, an array of sandwiches, pizza slices, and sweet treats. Big thanks also to the Gateway in Brompton for sending us a HUGE fruit box full of grapes, strawberries, satsumas, bananas & apples. Our lovely volunteer Chrissy was on hand with her clippers and scissors offering haircuts - she'd brought along a selection of newspapers and magazines plus an array of aftershave to make her customers feel like the were getting the true "hairdresser experience" !! Her first customer was a gentleman with long hair- he decided to go for a drastic change and have it all shaved off!!... Chrissy has been volunteering with us for over a year now, and has a great manner with the people we see - cutting their hair gives her an even greater connection , and time to chat. We recently attained funding from the Pentagon Fund - some of which will be spent purchasing a new gazebo with sides, which will be used for ''Chrissy's Cuts" and also other professionals (nurses etc) who we are hoping will join us soon. It was another busy night & the weather stayed fine !!
