Last night made me realise more than ever what a vicious circle homelessness is. When you are asked the question, can you get me a bed for the night? You reply sorry it’s not cold enough. The person is cold and wet because it’s rained literally all day and their sleeping bag is soaked. Then comes the statement ‘I’ll get myself arrested then, at least I’ll be warm and dry’. How do you answer that?

So we did the best we could, we had all the usual items including warm clothing, coats etc so at least they could actually be dry. Hot drinks, pot Noodles and food were appreciated.

I admire our volunteers who willingly come out in the rotten weather and do their utmost to help people more comfortable in a bad situation.

Due to the rotten weather we have given a lot of clothing out so really would appreciate men’s jeans and t shirts, sweatshirts and joggers. Not to be particular but in decent condition as they are going to be worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
